Launching SRV "Arctica"

On November 26, 2021 the scientific yacht "Arktika" made for MSU-Geophysics LLC is going to be launched at the Ushakov Shipyards in Kaliningrad.
The vessel is ready to solve fundamental, industrial and educational tasks on the Arctic shelf.

SRV “Arktika” was built by the world-class specialists of Ushakov Shipyards LLC according to the design of Dutch architect Jan Visser.

The ship has an ice reinforcement. The sailing area according to CE-A category is unlimited.

The vessel is ready to take on board 8 crew members and scientists. It is capable to carry out hydrographic, geophysical (electrical surveying, seismoacoustics) and ecological studies as well as sampling and drilling operations on the Arctic shelf.
